Oktoberfest is a beer festival held annually in Munich, Germany. The first Oktoberfest was celebrated in 1810, when the Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese and invited Munich’s citizens to join the party. Nowadays, the festival is celebrated from late September to the first weekend in October. This year it runs from September 17th to October 3rd. Only beer that is brewed within the city limits of Munich is allowed to be served at the festival.
